“And here…we…GO!” The third Dark Knight trailer has arrived

Heath Ledger as The Joker

I’m leaning a little heavily on stuff from The Dark Knight, but The Broken Telegraph is only a week and a half old, and during that time they’ve just kept on releasing more (blaming “them” is so much easier).  So if you’re interested in watching the third trailer- which was just released hours ago- look no further:

The YouTube version

There’s too much downtown/urban footage on display so far; the gothic atmosphere of the comics and graphic novels seems to be lacking. And I’m not yet sold on Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent, but besides that, i’m probably best described as uncomfortably excited.  Are you looking forward to this movie, or not so much?

Two Face

  • I have no problem with Eckhart as Two-Face. I would rather him than Tommy Lee Jones, whose performance of the same character I always thought came off like third rate Nicholson. Although, in the comics, I think Two-Face was black at some point. So, really, Eckhart should be in blackface to properly portray this historical figure.

  • Eckhart will probably be great. He’s a good actor, but seems too wooden in the clips so far. Part of that might be the overdubbing and editing on the trailers themselves. I had the same concern about Bale, who came off too stoic in the ‘Begins’ trailers and ended up being an amazing Wayne/Batman.

Jones was embarrassing as Two-Face. I sense he did zero investigation into who that character actually is (and Schumacher isn’t going to put the brakes on him). ‘Forever’ was such a joyless movie. Quite an accomplishment when you consider the amount of visual “flair.”

Don’t forget Billy Dee Williams in ’89’s Batman :) (I guess Burton was a purist after all for going with a black Harvey Dent).

So did you like this trailer?

  • Dude, that trailer looks really good! Makes me more excited for it….

  • Bean- are you ready to take it down IMAX-style with me?

  • I think TLJ would have been much better if he searched every dog house, hen house, out house, warehouse, farmhouse he could for inspiration… instead of just acting like he always does in every movie… friend of Kevin Costner.

If you always act the same, are you really acting or are you just good at being comfortable enough to be yourself on screen?

    Hey taaaaaa!

  • I think you’re pretty close Taz, but TLJ would’ve been even stronger in the role had he searched THIS way for inspiration: dog house, hen house, out house, then back to the dog house, farmhouse, my house and your house, and then finally The Warehouse in Lynnwood.
