About This Site
From Ian Ebright:
The world can be a messy place because people are messy beings. Rather than responding with denial or endless despair, Tiffany and I seek a different path and invite you to share yours with us. We try to write in a way that wrestles with important issues while acknowledging the complexity of the human condition. It is a trajectory aiming to be thoughtful and curious, but never at a cost to conviction, or at times outrage. It is the exploration of ideas while attempting to avoid binding pessimism or shallow optimism. And in all of that, there is the recognition that we too are broken people who get it wrong; people also in need of something beyond ourselves.
I started this blog a few years ago, because I believe that faith, life, and culture are made stronger when these things are challenged and shared with one another, while feeling compelled to highlight religious, political, and social abuses, in order to act for positive change. If these things interest you, then welcome to The Broken Telegraph.

Ian/Brian/Tiffany,
I’m a newbie to your blog (found it via Eugene Cho’s site), and wanted to shout a quick thanks for the quality of writing present here.
Today I particularly enjoyed a few of your older articles (“Get well now” and the “danger of being nice” series). Where regurgitated, trite articles are so common in the blogosphere (and a pesky blogging temptation for me), it’s refreshing to come across such bold honesty. I’m adding this to my RSS, and will look forward to future articles!

Thanks for taking the time to write this, Drew. It’s a true encouragement, and motivating for me as I’m sure it is for Tiffany and Brian.
We look forward to hearing from you in the future!

I will certainly come back here and read the posts, but for now, do you guys mind if I steal that Fabius Maximus blog quote?

I think it’s fair use to quote him as long as you cite him. Thanks for the message and I look forward to having you back!
