PINWHEEL HORIZON Wins Multiple Awards At Chilean Film Festival

Pinwheel Horizon won eight awards and earned one nomination at the South Film and Arts Academy Festival (SFAAF)—including a Best Director trophy for writer-director Ian Ebright. Now in its eighth year, the gold-ranked FilmFreeway festival near Santiago, Chile handed out the following honors to Pinwheel Horizon after their live screening:

  • Winner—Best Fantastic Short Film
  • Winner—First Audience Award
  • Winner—Best Director in a Short Film
  • Winner—Best Lead Actress in a Short Film (Cassie Stires)
  • Winner—Cinematography Honorable Mention in a Short Film (Haley Watson)
  • Winner—Best Costume Design in a Short Film (Meleta Buckstaff)
  • Winner—Sound Design Honorable Mention in a Short Film (Brendan J. Hogan; Paul Eric Miller)
  • Winner—Best VFX in a Short Film (Chace Biddle; Todd Sheridan Perry; Rogelio Salinas; Luke Swain)
  • Nominee—Best Original Score (Billow Observatory)

It’s the second time SFAAF awarded one of Ian’s films; his 2017 narrative short The Devil Needs a Fix won Best Dark Comedy Short Film and Supporting Actress Honorable Mention (Rosalie Miller) at the South American film festival in 2018.
